Make the Switch

Let us help you make the switch from your old checking account to your new Madison Bank of Maryland checking account. By completing the provided authorizations, you’re well on your way to redirecting your deposits and automatic payments, as well as transferring existing accounts into your new checking account.

You may send the completed forms to the appropriate businesses or drop them off at one of our branch locations and we will forward them on your behalf.

Change Direct Deposits

Complete the Direct Deposit Authorization Change Form and forward to your Payroll Department, Pension/Retirement Plan, Brokerage Firm or other Financial Institutions.

Our Customer Service Representative may assist you in redirecting your Social Security benefits or you may contact the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213 or visit their website at www.ssa.gov.

Be sure to confirm that all direct deposits have been switched before closing any previous accounts.

Change Automatic Payments/Withdrawals

In many cases changes to your automatic payments/ withdrawals for utilities, insurance, memberships, mortgages or other loans may be completed at their website. You will need to supply our routing number (252071214) and your new Madison Bank of Maryland checking account number.

You may instead complete the Automatic Payment Withdrawal Authorization Change Form and forward to all businesses that automatically withdraw payments from your checking account.

Be sure to confirm that all automatic payments have been switched before closing any previous accounts.

Close Existing Checking Account

Complete the Authorization to Close Account and forward to the Financial Institution where your checking/savings account is maintained.

Be sure to leave a sufficient balance in your existing checking account until all outstanding checks have been processed and all automatic payments have been redirected to your new checking account. For your convenience and safety, you may bring your unused checks, deposit tickets or debit cards into any branch and we will shred them for you.
